My name is Andrew and welcome to this live radio show The Auto Pit I have taken the time to put this show together because for years I have enjoyed working in the automotive industry.

 

Exclusive to SN Radio based here in Australia we are going to be hosting this LIVE radio show talking about cars because let's face it many of us share the same passion.

 

From my school years I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend a school that had on offer, automotive mechanical and body work plus welding and more on campus.

Unfortunately, kids today don't seem to have that as an option in school. I personally think it will hit the automotive industry down the road with a shortage of skilled workers in the trade which I believe is starting to happen as a result.

 

I grew up in a time when here in Australia many of us back in the 1980's were looking for power to weight ratio, for example the Australian built Holden Torana LC or LJ with a wild red motor in it 6 or 8 cylinder. I must also mention I remember a few HB Torana conversions with 6-cylinder red motors in them and some real wild ones with V8s the 350 chev engine fitted mind you many were street registered.

 

Today laws have got so strict here in Australia and seem to be getting completely out of control you don't see such modifications anymore, unless you want to pay massive money for an engineer's certificate. I agree and most of us say it that many of these modified cars we see are safer than some of the crap you see getting around on our roads and they never seem to get hassled.

What to Expect in the Pit.

In the pit we will discuss anything automotive from engine builds to modifications also body work and more. Plus, we will discuss technical tips and tricks in the trade and how to beat some of those hard to deal with issues.

 

We will also give our listeners the opportunity to call in on the show talk about their current builds and even their past builds. Guests will also be welcome to come in and join me LIVE on the show or call in if that's an easier option.

 

I will be also looking to get right behind car clubs and discussing upcoming club meets and cruisers and talk about the general car club scene today.

 

Maybe you are an automotive event organizer from a car show, or a swap meet and think having me join your event live could be of some benefit you can email me anytime to discuss options.

 

This show as of June 2026 is in the early stages of development so I'm looking for some extra ideas what you suggest we should put on the table that need to be talked about. For the upcoming show keep your eyes on our SCHEDULE for upcoming time slots.
